As one of our “Untouched Terrain” eco-tours, this paddle epitomizes that description. One of our guides has paddled this route over thirty times and has never seen another human being on any trip. Gators, otters, manatees, deer, and an occasional bear have all been sighted at one time or another. The woods bordering the creek are alive with pileated woodpeckers, red-shouldered hawks, osprey, and songbirds by the tens of thousands. The cypress trees and oaks bend over the narrow creek with limbs that are often ladened with native orchids, ferns, bromeliads and air plants. At one spot along the creek, a narrow beach area opens up. This spot is perfect to get out, stretch, have a snack, and just listen to the sounds of nature. Without any exaggeration, this paddle is one of the most awesome eco-tours we offer.
Even as special as Deep Creek is, your guides at Earth and Water Adventures also know of several other seldom paddled, hidden creeks that are perfect eco-tours. We would be delighted to show you Florida’s raw and natural beauty in a way that hits deep down in your soul.
About this paddle
This paddle requires no previous experience and is suitable for everyone. Like all our tours, nothing is scripted, and we don’t have the ability to call animals out on demand. Sometimes (often times) we get to see an amazing assortment of Florida wildlife in their natural environment. However, this being nature, nothing is guaranteed.
