Description
Kayaking Under the Full Moon
At Earth and Water Adventures, we’re big advocates of being on the water at any time. But, a kayaking at night is truly a special experience, especially one under a full moon. Depending on the time of year, your guide will select a route where you can see the moon and stars like you’ve never seen them before.
Just imagine kayaking out to a secluded spot on the river, or lake and on one side the sun grows large as it sets in the west. On the other side, the moon begins to show its face rising in the east filling the horizon as it makes its nightly trek across the sky. In between, stars begin to glow and sparkle. Our guides can point out constellations and planets as they appear in the sky, and maybe even a little of the mythology surrounding each.
Our tours begin the day or two before the actual full moon and go one to two days beyond so as many people as possible can experience this awesome kayaking experience. Because of the moon’s schedule, the times of the paddles may be adjusted for optimal viewing. We will generally try and be on the water before sunset so you can get comfortable while there is still some daylight. Of course, once the moon is out, there will be plenty of moonlight to paddle by.
This will be an easy paddle, suitable for everyone.
